Chapter 4: "MY MONEY WORKS FOR ME"
Imagine focusing less energy on something and due to you giving it little thought makes it attract to you even more. That’s how you get girls, right? Idk

“Money Minions”
Robert told a little story about the first job he was ever given at around 9/10 years of age. Him and his friend, Mike, got a job from Mike’s father to dust shelves for a pretty penny for about 10 cents. Even in the 1950s 10 cents was very little money. The boys got angry stating that they were wasting their time and the money wasn’t worth it. The pot eventually over boiled and Robert went fuming to Mike’s dad’s office arguing that this is nonsense, he came to learn and get rich, not earn little to nothing.
Rich dad (Mike’s Dad) pointed out that most persons genuinely just work for a paycheck and when they do all they are seeking is money and security. What you ask of the world is what you get. When you start dwelling on the money, what is instantly being guaranteed to you, your mind then becomes closed to the opportunities that pass you by each and every day. You become complacent and comfortable. Think about it, “Think And Grow Rich”, by Napoleon Hill, talked about open-minded and closed-minded people and their perspectives on life (or was it the 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Teenagers?). They are only seeing with the glasses they are currently wearing. However, what if you changed your lens, you would see the world differently, right? Not saying anything is wrong with working for a paycheck. The point at which you start to believe that that is all you need to survive and live the life you want is where things get little tricky unless you’re genuinely making enough that can do all the things your heart desires.
Using a personal experience, I’ve been writing an article every day for the past 22 days without earning a penny. I’ve been reading books every single day since February without earning a dime and most people would say it’s still a short period of time anyway. I’m sure persons have gone 10 years without receiving a return on their investments, so I know my journey hasn’t even started. Not saying I’m only writing newsletters to potentially earn some cash but I’m quite aware of what it could bring in. Since reading became a recent habit, I was wondering how I could retain information better. While at school persons would be asking me to borrow books as they would want to know what I’m reading about. So, I killed two birds with one stone….I started a newsletter. Who inspired me to start one was actually Codie Snachez on YouTube, this individual who owns multiple “boring businesses” as she calls them, where she makes videos on a truck load of business ideas and side hustles.
Look around you, remind yourself of your intelligences and figure out a problem that can be solved. Again, ADD VALUE.
Some lines that struck me:
“He was trying to tempt us with something that would give us instant gratification, but we’d learned in our “after-school enrichment program” to wait for something much bigger.”
“Keep working boys, but the sooner you forget about needing a paycheck the easier your life will be when you are adults. Keep using your brain, work for free, and soon your mind will show you ways of making money far beyond what I could ever pay you. You will see things that other people never see. Opportunities are right in front of their noses. Most people never see these opportunities because they’re looking for money and security, so that’s all they get.”
“Is there an opportunity in front of you that you can’t see yet?”
“Keep your eyes and ears open. The next time you hear the words “I wish we had…” think about whether there’s a way you can create a business to meet that need. Don’t assume that grown-ups are the only ones who can do it. Plenty of community needs can be met by the efforts of teenagers.”
“Just remember, whatever service you’re providing, work toward building a bigger business where money can be made even when you aren’t working.
Same time next day?
